Washing Instructions

Properly washing socks can maintain their quality and comfort. Here are some steps and recommendations for washing socks:

Sort by Color: Before washing, sort your socks by colour. This prevents colour bleeding from darker socks to lighter ones.

Use Cold Water: Washing your socks in cold water helps prevent colour fading. Hot water can cause colours to bleed and fade faster.

Turn Inside Out: Turn your socks inside out before washing. This can help protect the outer surface and colour from direct agitation.

Use a Gentle Cycle: If your washing machine has a gentle or delicate cycle, use it for washing socks. This reduces the stress on the fabric and colour.

Use a Mild Detergent: Choose a mild detergent that is specifically designed for delicate fabrics or colours. Harsh detergents can strip away colours.

Avoid Bleach: Avoid using bleach, as it can lead to colour fading. Instead, opt for colour-safe bleach if needed, and use it sparingly.

Don't Overload the Machine: Overloading the washing machine can cause excessive friction and agitation, which can lead to colour fading. Wash socks in a reasonably sized load.

Skip Fabric Softeners: Fabric softeners can sometimes affect the colour and absorbency of socks. It's best to skip them or use them sparingly.

Wash Similar Colours: Washing socks with similar colours (e.g., all dark socks together) can help prevent colour bleeding.

Hand Washing: For particularly delicate or colourful socks, consider hand washing them. Gently agitate the socks in a basin of cold water with a mild detergent, and avoid excessive wringing.

Air Dry: Whenever possible, air drying is gentler on socks than using a dryer. Hang your socks to dry in a shaded area, avoiding direct sunlight.

Use a Mesh Laundry Bag: If you're concerned about colour fading, you can place your socks in a mesh laundry bag before washing. This adds an extra layer of protection during the washing process.

For Merino Socks:
We highly recommend Hand Washing.

By following these steps, you can help preserve the colour of your socks while keeping them clean and fresh. Keep in mind that some colour fading over time is natural due to wear and washing, but proper care can extend the lifespan of your socks.
